About this job

Weckerly Farms is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator / Mechanic in Hurdsfield. Combine practical machinery repairs with crop-production work through the year at a family-operated North Dakota farm. What you will do • Recondition farm machinery during winter in preparation for the growing season. • Operate tillage, air-seeding, and corn-planting equipment in spring. • Support summer machinery work, grain-storage preparation, or crop spraying according to your skills. • Help with autumn harvest, field preparation, and fertilizer application. How the work fits together The Weckerly family has farmed around Hurdsfield for generations. Its present crop operation grew from a family ranch that once raised sheep and later cattle. Norman Weckerly developed the grain-farming side, while his brother Lloyd continued ranching separately. Wheat, corn, and soybeans are among the crops grown today. The family's work also includes a local grain elevator and agricultural services, connecting crop production with storage and marketing. Terry joined the operation in 1979, and Chad returned full-time in 2004. Both have been closely involved in managing the farm. Machinery maintenance is part of that continuing operation, not an isolated harvest assignment: equipment is prepared, used, repaired, and readied again as the production calendar advances. What the employer is looking for • Have production-agriculture experience and strong mechanical skills. • Be confident operating and maintaining different types of farm machinery. • Be comfortable with technology and bring a dependable work ethic. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Responsibilities are tailored to the successful applicant's abilities. Discuss compensation, regular hours, peak-season scheduling, and your start date with the farm. The employer offers relocation assistance when appropriate and describes retirement planning with matching contributions for long-serving employees; confirm your individual eligibility and offer. Work is based near 2919 Highway 200 in Hurdsfield. How to apply Complete the farm's online employment application or contact Chad at 701-793-7382. Include your recent employment history and describe the equipment you have operated, repairs you have performed, and other relevant agricultural experience. The application also requests education and address history.
