About this job

Pumpkin Patch Farms is hiring for the Fall Farm Attraction Operator position in Blue Mountain, MS. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Prepare the assigned farm attraction, guest area, produce display, equipment, or supplies before opening and keep the area orderly through the shift. • Welcome visitors, explain the assigned activity or farm procedure clearly, and follow the employer's rules for safe guest movement and participation. • Communicate crowd, weather, equipment, product, safety, or customer-service concerns to the farm lead promptly. • Inspect and prepare the assigned farm attraction before opening, check its supplies, signs, entry and exit paths, and operating area, and alert a lead to any condition that needs correction before guests participate. • Welcome visitors, explain the attraction's rules in clear and friendly language, control participation and guest flow within training, and maintain safe boundaries around animals, vehicles, equipment, fields, and activity areas. • Reset and tidy the attraction throughout the shift, monitor weather and crowd conditions, and stop or escalate an activity when equipment, behavior, missing supplies, visibility, or another safety concern falls outside the approved procedure. How the work fits together Agritourism work connects visitors with a working farm during a concentrated seasonal window. The team prepares before opening, checks the assigned area and supplies, welcomes and directs guests, resets the space throughout service, and completes an orderly close. Employees must balance warmth and efficiency with clear boundaries around farm equipment, animals, crops, traffic, food, and weather. At Pumpkin Patch Farms, the employer also makes these role-specific priorities clear: Inspect and prepare the assigned farm attraction before opening, check its supplies, signs, entry and exit paths, and operating area, and alert a lead to any condition that needs correction before guests participate. Welcome visitors, explain the attraction's rules in clear and friendly language, control participation and guest flow within training, and maintain safe boundaries around animals, vehicles, equipment, fields, and activity areas. Reset and tidy the attraction throughout the shift, monitor weather and crowd conditions, and stop or escalate an activity when equipment, behavior, missing supplies, visibility, or another safety concern falls outside the approved procedure. What the employer is looking for • Reliable transportation to Blue Mountain and availability to work Saturdays and Sundays in October, as specifically requested in the 2026 application, plus dependable attendance during a short and busy fall season. • A friendly and attentive manner, willingness to learn the assigned attraction and follow its safety rules, ability to communicate with families and coworkers, and capacity for sustained standing, walking, outdoor work, setup, and cleanup. • Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures. • Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is seasonal work for Pumpkin Patch Farms' upcoming 2026 fall season, with weekend availability in October required by the application. Exact opening dates, shift times, weekly hours, age requirements for Attraction Operator, numeric compensation, training dates, and employee benefits are not stated in the public application. Candidates should enter truthful availability and ask about the remaining season calendar, role-specific training, expected weather exposure, breaks, and pay during the hiring conversation. The employer does not publish a numeric wage range on this page, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm the final hours, overtime treatment, starting assignment, travel or reporting point, supplied equipment, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer before accepting an offer. This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift. Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.
