About this job
Seward Farms is hiring for the 2026 Fall Farm Maze Team Member position in Lucedale, MS. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property.
What you will do
• Prepare the assigned farm attraction, guest area, produce display, equipment, or supplies before opening and keep the area orderly through the shift.
• Welcome visitors, explain the assigned activity or farm procedure clearly, and follow the employer's rules for safe guest movement and participation.
• Communicate crowd, weather, equipment, product, safety, or customer-service concerns to the farm lead promptly.
• Prepare an assigned maze, attraction, admissions, food, animal, field-trip, or guest-service station before visitors arrive by checking supplies, signs, cleanliness, and obvious safety concerns.
• Welcome families and school groups, explain the assigned farm activity clearly, answer routine questions within training, and help visitors move safely around farm animals, outdoor attractions, and working areas.
• Reset and restock the assigned station through the shift, keep the area presentable, and quickly notify a lead about weather, crowd flow, guest concerns, missing supplies, damaged equipment, or hazards.
How the work fits together
Agritourism work connects visitors with a working farm during a concentrated seasonal window. The team prepares before opening, checks the assigned area and supplies, welcomes and directs guests, resets the space throughout service, and completes an orderly close. Employees must balance warmth and efficiency with clear boundaries around farm equipment, animals, crops, traffic, food, and weather. At Seward Farms, the employer also makes these role-specific priorities clear: Prepare an assigned maze, attraction, admissions, food, animal, field-trip, or guest-service station before visitors arrive by checking supplies, signs, cleanliness, and obvious safety concerns. Welcome families and school groups, explain the assigned farm activity clearly, answer routine questions within training, and help visitors move safely around farm animals, outdoor attractions, and working areas. Reset and restock the assigned station through the shift, keep the area presentable, and quickly notify a lead about weather, crowd flow, guest concerns, missing supplies, damaged equipment, or hazards.
What the employer is looking for
• Applicants must be at least 16 and should be hard-working, positive, team-oriented, comfortable interacting with many visitors, and able to contribute to the friendly experience expected at a family farm.
• Dependable attendance for the 2026 fall season, reliable transportation, willingness to attend required orientation, and ability to complete the standing, walking, outdoor, cleanup, stocking, or customer tasks of the assigned station.
• Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures.
• Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
This is seasonal work for the 2026 fall farm-maze season. Seward Farms says weekday-only or weekend-only availability may be workable for some assignments. Public event operations include pre-booked field trips Monday through Thursday and Saturday public events, while the farm is closed to visitors on Friday and Sunday. Exact roles, shift lengths, weekly hours, start date, season end date, and compensation are determined through the application and hiring process rather than published in advance. New employees must attend orientation before opening. The employer does not publish a numeric wage range on this page, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm the final hours, overtime treatment, starting assignment, travel or reporting point, supplied equipment, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer before accepting an offer.
This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift.
Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.
