About this job

Sugar Ridge Family Farm is hiring for the Fall Fest Ride Attendant position in Walton, KY. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Prepare the assigned farm attraction, guest area, produce display, equipment, or supplies before opening and keep the area orderly through the shift. • Welcome visitors, explain the assigned activity or farm procedure clearly, and follow the employer's rules for safe guest movement and participation. • Communicate crowd, weather, equipment, product, safety, or customer-service concerns to the farm lead promptly. • Open and inspect the assigned farm ride or attraction area, organize the waiting point, and verify that signs, barriers, loading space, and supplies are ready for guests. • Load and unload guests according to the farm's procedure, explain safety expectations clearly, and pause participation whenever capacity, behavior, weather, or equipment creates concern. • Reset and tidy the attraction between groups, coordinate guest flow with nearby attendants, and communicate crowd, equipment, access, or safety issues immediately. How the work fits together Agritourism work connects visitors with a working farm during a concentrated seasonal window. The team prepares before opening, checks the assigned area and supplies, welcomes and directs guests, resets the space throughout service, and completes an orderly close. Employees must balance warmth and efficiency with clear boundaries around farm equipment, animals, crops, traffic, food, and weather. At Sugar Ridge Family Farm, the employer also makes these role-specific priorities clear: Open and inspect the assigned farm ride or attraction area, organize the waiting point, and verify that signs, barriers, loading space, and supplies are ready for guests. Load and unload guests according to the farm's procedure, explain safety expectations clearly, and pause participation whenever capacity, behavior, weather, or equipment creates concern. Reset and tidy the attraction between groups, coordinate guest flow with nearby attendants, and communicate crowd, equipment, access, or safety issues immediately. What the employer is looking for • Applicants must be at least 16 for the published Ride Attendant role and available for the farm's concentrated fall-weekend season. • Reliable attendance, a positive guest-facing attitude, comfort working outside and on foot, and willingness to learn the farm's ride, attraction, and emergency procedures; prior experience is not required for most roles. • Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures. • Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is flexible seasonal weekend work during Sugar Ridge's 2026 Fall Fest & Craft Market, which runs September 19 through October 25. The employer does not publish numeric pay, exact shift lengths, conventional benefits, or the number of weekly hours. The employer does not publish a numeric wage range on this page, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm the final hours, overtime treatment, starting assignment, travel or reporting point, supplied equipment, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer before accepting an offer. This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift. Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated. How to apply Choose Ride Attendant in the employment form on Sugar Ridge Family Farm's direct hiring page and include your fall availability and relevant guest, farm, ride, or safety experience.
