Peifer Orchards is hiring Seasonal Farm Market Retail Associates for fall 2026. Help customers shop for fresh produce and local foods at the orchard's farm market just outside downtown Yellow Springs. What you will do • Assist shoppers and help create a friendly, welcoming market experience. • Stock produce and other merchandise so customers can find what they need. • Operate the register and handle customer purchases. • Work with the seasonal team during the busy autumn market season. How the work fits together Peifer Orchards began in 1994 when the family planted apple and peach trees as a hobby. It grew into an orchard with more than three thousand fruit trees, along with berries and pumpkins. John Peifer now operates the market with his daughter Emma and her husband Sam. The farm moved to its current Route 68 location in 2004 and has become a local destination for seasonal produce and fresh cider. Its market runs from June through December and offers specialty foods and gifts alongside locally grown crops. Autumn is particularly busy: the farm presses cider in small batches, often twice weekly, using the apple varieties available at the time. Retail staff help connect that seasonal food with the customers who come to enjoy it. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is a seasonal fall position. Pay, weekly hours, and individual start and end dates are discussed during hiring. Current public market hours are 10–6 on weekdays, 9–5 Saturdays, and 11–5 Sundays; employee shifts are assigned separately. Work is at 4590 US 68 North, Yellow Springs.
