About this job
Fall Harvest Orchard is hiring for the Fall Orchard Team Member position in Delano, MN. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property.
What you will do
• Prepare the assigned farm attraction, guest area, produce display, equipment, or supplies before opening and keep the area orderly through the shift.
• Welcome visitors, explain the assigned activity or farm procedure clearly, and follow the employer's rules for safe guest movement and participation.
• Communicate crowd, weather, equipment, product, safety, or customer-service concerns to the farm lead promptly.
• Prepare an assigned orchard, pumpkin, produce, activity, or guest-service station before opening by stocking supplies, checking signs and displays, and removing obvious safety or cleanliness issues.
• Welcome visitors, answer routine questions within training, explain U-pick or activity procedures, and help families move safely and comfortably through a busy working-farm environment.
• Restock farm products and supplies, keep the assigned area orderly throughout service, and report damaged fruit, shortages, weather changes, guest concerns, or equipment problems to the shift lead.
How the work fits together
Agritourism work connects visitors with a working farm during a concentrated seasonal window. The team prepares before opening, checks the assigned area and supplies, welcomes and directs guests, resets the space throughout service, and completes an orderly close. Employees must balance warmth and efficiency with clear boundaries around farm equipment, animals, crops, traffic, food, and weather. At Fall Harvest Orchard, the employer also makes these role-specific priorities clear: Prepare an assigned orchard, pumpkin, produce, activity, or guest-service station before opening by stocking supplies, checking signs and displays, and removing obvious safety or cleanliness issues. Welcome visitors, answer routine questions within training, explain U-pick or activity procedures, and help families move safely and comfortably through a busy working-farm environment. Restock farm products and supplies, keep the assigned area orderly throughout service, and report damaged fruit, shortages, weather changes, guest concerns, or equipment problems to the shift lead.
What the employer is looking for
• The orchard begins hiring at age 14 and welcomes students, retirees, parents, and other applicants able to bring a friendly manner, dependable attendance, and willingness to learn the assigned station.
• Ability to remain active in fall weather, work cooperatively during busy guest periods, follow farm and attraction safety rules, and complete the standing, walking, stocking, carrying, cleanup, or customer tasks assigned.
• Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures.
• Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
This is flexible seasonal work beginning with the orchard's September 5 opening and continuing through the 2026 fall season. Public orchard hours are Thursday through Sunday, generally 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., through November 1. Starting wages depend on age, experience, and assigned position rather than a published numeric range. Employee discounts and other perks are available. Applicants should enter complete school, weekday, and weekend availability in the application so the orchard can discuss an appropriate role and shift pattern. The employer does not publish a numeric wage range on this page, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm the final hours, overtime treatment, starting assignment, travel or reporting point, supplied equipment, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer before accepting an offer.
This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift.
Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.
