About this job

Breadseed Farm is hiring a full-time Farm Crew Member in Craftsbury. Join Kayleigh and Doug in a one-acre no-till market garden producing vegetables and flowers for nearby communities. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, and harvest crops. • Prepare beds, compost, and help manage irrigation. • Work in greenhouses and high tunnels, including pruning and trellising. • Wash and pack produce, prepare flowers, and support market sales. How the work fits together Kayleigh Boyle and Douglas Wolcik purchased their Craftsbury property in 2020. They brought years of experience managing small vegetable farms and a shared interest in productive systems based on simple tools and careful soil stewardship. Their growing area incorporates flowers, herbs, and native perennial plants that support pollinators and beneficial insects. The farm's produce reaches CSA members at several neighborhood pickup sites, farmers-market customers, local stores, and restaurant kitchens. Flower arrangements and seasonal wreaths are another part of Kayleigh's work. Breadseed also directs extra produce toward community meals and gleaning programs. The crew works closely with both owners in a compact operation where growing, harvest, packing, and customer distribution are connected within the same working week. What the employer is looking for • Be interested in practical no-till farming and willing to learn the farm's methods. • Work comfortably as part of a small team and on self-directed tasks. • Communicate about problems, questions, and areas you want to develop. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay starts at $17 hourly, paid biweekly, with a CSA share and produce and flower extras. The season ends in late October. Normal fall hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., with a paid hour for lunch and one Saturday market monthly. How to apply Complete the 2026 Breadseed Farm Crew Application and email your resume to breadseedfarm@gmail.com. The form asks about experience, transportation, interests, and two work references. Confirm your available start date and remaining seasonal commitment with Kayleigh and Doug.
