Farm & Guest Experience Team Member
Elderslie Farm

About this job
Elderslie Farm is hiring for the Farm & Guest Experience Team Member position in Kechi, KS. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property.
What you will do
• Prepare the assigned farm attraction, guest area, produce display, equipment, or supplies before opening and keep the area orderly through the shift.
• Welcome visitors, explain the assigned activity or farm procedure clearly, and follow the employer's rules for safe guest movement and participation.
• Communicate crowd, weather, equipment, product, safety, or customer-service concerns to the farm lead promptly.
• Prepare, monitor, reset, and close assigned blackberry-bramble, you-pick flower, market, event, or other visitor-facing farm areas according to the day's plan.
• Welcome guests, explain picking or farm-area expectations, protect crops and boundaries, and direct questions or concerns to the appropriate farm, market, or hospitality lead.
• Assist with light harvest handling, supplies, signs, containers, paths, cleanup, and cross-team farm priorities while reporting crop, weather, crowd, product, or safety issues.
How the work fits together
Agritourism work connects visitors with a working farm during a concentrated seasonal window. The team prepares before opening, checks the assigned area and supplies, welcomes and directs guests, resets the space throughout service, and completes an orderly close. Employees must balance warmth and efficiency with clear boundaries around farm equipment, animals, crops, traffic, food, and weather. At Elderslie Farm, the employer also makes these role-specific priorities clear: Prepare, monitor, reset, and close assigned blackberry-bramble, you-pick flower, market, event, or other visitor-facing farm areas according to the day's plan. Welcome guests, explain picking or farm-area expectations, protect crops and boundaries, and direct questions or concerns to the appropriate farm, market, or hospitality lead. Assist with light harvest handling, supplies, signs, containers, paths, cleanup, and cross-team farm priorities while reporting crop, weather, crowd, product, or safety issues.
What the employer is looking for
• Eager, interested approach and a clear explanation of where your skills could contribute across the farm's bramble, flower, market, creamery, cafe, dining, or event work.
• Warm guest communication, readiness for seasonal outdoor work, and willingness to move between farm-care and hospitality tasks without losing attention to cleanliness or boundaries.
• Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures.
• Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
Elderslie accepts applications year-round and currently operates seasonal dining, a market, events, and you-pick experiences, with flowers returning in late September 2026. The employer does not publish numeric pay, exact hours, benefits, or a single employment classification; applicants should state availability and preferred work area clearly. The employer does not publish a numeric wage range on this page, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm the final hours, overtime treatment, starting assignment, travel or reporting point, supplied equipment, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer before accepting an offer.
This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift.
Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.
