Langwater Farm is hiring for the Farmers' Market Crew position in North Easton, MA. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Receive, stage, sort, pack, load, or deliver farm products according to the day's orders, quality standards, and food-safety procedures. • Use assigned containers, carts, packing equipment, vehicles, and material-handling tools safely and only within completed training. • Maintain accurate counts and labels, protect product condition, and communicate shortages, damage, delays, sanitation concerns, or order exceptions promptly. • Load the farm's produce van, drive from North Easton to assigned markets and back, unload safely, and create full, accurate, attractive displays that protect produce quality. • Serve customers, discuss vegetables and cooking, weigh and ring transactions through the mobile point-of-sale system, restock, maintain counts, and complete an orderly market close. • Combine farmers-market responsibilities with additional farm-store shifts assigned by the manager, keeping products, containers, the vehicle, sales materials, and work areas ready for the next outlet. How the work fits together Packing and distribution work begins with confirmed orders, product availability, route or packing priorities, and a clean, ready work area. The team receives and stages product, checks quality and counts, packs or loads in the required sequence, and records exceptions before anything leaves the farm. Containers, work surfaces, vehicles, and remaining inventory are reset for the next production or delivery cycle. What the employer is looking for • Superb customer service, a valid driver's license and excellent record, ability to drive the produce van, comfort with mobile point-of-sale systems, love of vegetables and cooking, and positive independent work habits. • Ability to organize and multitask in a fast-paced distribution system, maintain display and transaction detail, and frequently lift 40 pounds to waist height throughout long market days. • Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures. • Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Applicants must be available for at least two of these three shifts: Wednesday 8:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m., Thursday 9:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m., and Saturday 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Additional North Easton farm-store shifts are assigned by the manager. The position begins immediately, is full-time from May through November, and becomes part-time from December through April. Pay is $18–$20 per hour based on experience. Employees receive farm produce and a 15% farm-store discount; no housing, insurance, or paid-leave package is published. The employer publishes $18–$20 per hour. This is an in-person agricultural production position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season.
