Riverstone Organic Farm is hiring a part-time Floyd Farmers Market Lead. Help bring the farm's organic vegetables to local customers through a regular Saturday market role. What you will do • Load produce at the farm and transport it to the Floyd Farmers Market. • Set up the stand and lead sales during market hours. • Work with the market team, handle transactions, and assist customers. • Pack the stand, return to the farm, and unload remaining produce. How the work fits together Tiffany Thompson and Alex Hessler own and operate Riverstone's vegetable business, which they took over in 2019. Their background combines horticultural study with practical organic-farm management. They live at the farm with their son and work on the business full-time. The land belongs to Woody and Jackie Crenshaw, who purchased the property in 2002 and gradually restored riverbanks, woodland paths, and ground affected by earlier overgrazing. Their aim was to create a useful local agricultural resource. Riverstone developed into a certified organic operation and later passed to Tiffany and Alex through a lease arrangement. The farm now supplies produce through markets, stores, and online sales. The market lead helps turn that growing work into a dependable weekly connection with Floyd's food-shopping community. What the employer is looking for • Be available for most Saturdays throughout the year. • Lift 50 pounds and stand outdoors for six or more hours. • Be organized, attentive to detail, comfortable with sales technology, and effective alone or with others. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay starts at $22 hourly, with free vegetables and a 20% farm-store discount. A typical Saturday runs approximately 6 a.m.–3 p.m., varying by season.
