Moon Valley Farm is hiring for the Floating Delivery Driver & Packshed Crew Member position in Woodsboro, MD. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Receive, stage, sort, pack, load, or deliver farm products according to the day's orders, quality standards, and food-safety procedures. • Use assigned containers, carts, packing equipment, vehicles, and material-handling tools safely and only within completed training. • Maintain accurate counts and labels, protect product condition, and communicate shortages, damage, delays, sanitation concerns, or order exceptions promptly. • Help load delivery vans and box trucks, support on-time route departures, and provide immediate backup coverage for CSA, wholesale, or institutional routes when a scheduled driver is unavailable. • Safely complete assigned routes in a delivery van, preserving product condition and communicating delays, access problems, returns, or order exceptions to the operations team. • When route coverage is not needed, stage inventory, pack orders, organize the packshed and warehouse, and support sanitation, food safety, and operational readiness for the next distribution day. How the work fits together Packing and distribution work begins with confirmed orders, product availability, route or packing priorities, and a clean, ready work area. The team receives and stages product, checks quality and counts, packs or loads in the required sequence, and records exceptions before anything leaves the farm. Containers, work surfaces, vehicles, and remaining inventory are reset for the next production or delivery cycle. What the employer is looking for • A valid driver's license, clean and insurable driving record, ability to operate delivery vans safely, strong punctuality, and dependable independent judgment in a fast-moving distribution environment. • Ability to lift and move produce boxes and distribution supplies, work efficiently across driving and packshed assignments, and cooperate with multiple departments; delivery, warehouse, agriculture, food-safety, or DOT experience is preferred. • Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures. • Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The normal part-time schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 5:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. When assigned a route, the shift continues until that route is finished and may end earlier or later than 1:30. Pay is $18.50–$22 per hour based on experience. The published package includes 24 hours of paid time off, 30 hours of sick leave, one personal day per year, and one free medium vegetable share each week. Training for five-ton trucks may be available, but a current DOT medical card is only preferred, not required for entry. The employer publishes $18.5–$22 per hour.
