Harvest Equipment Operator / Truck Driver

Green Acres Enterprises is hiring Harvest Equipment Operators and Truck Drivers for its traveling harvest crew. Join David and Verena Misener's small family business based in Elk City, helping bring in crops on farms from Oklahoma northward through the Plains. What you will do • Operate harvest machinery or trucks and the support equipment needed to keep the crew working. • Maintain equipment carefully and carry out assigned operating and service tasks. • Work cooperatively with fellow crew members and the farmers whose crops are being harvested. • Participate in initial, ongoing, and safety training. How the work fits together The Misener family established Green Acres Enterprises in 2011, drawing on David's farming and custom-harvesting background and Verena's agricultural upbringing and training. Their operation uses two John Deere combines with yield mapping, a grain cart with a scale, and semi-trucks. When a job needs more capacity, they work with another family harvesting business. Crops on the route include wheat, barley, canola, flax, soybeans, corn, milo, and sesame, and the business also plants and harvests cotton. Off-season work includes maintaining the family's equipment and repairing machinery for area farmers. Crew members contribute to a small agricultural team whose work follows crop readiness across several states, rather than a single fixed field or local delivery route. What the employer is looking for • Be reliable and bring a positive approach to teamwork. • Have a general understanding of large machinery and a willingness to learn. • A Class A commercial driver's license is preferred. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The preferred employment period is April through December, but applicants available for part of the season are considered. Travel-trailer housing and home-cooked meals are provided. Discuss the available start date, remaining route, hours, and wage with the owners before committing. No numerical pay rate is specified.
