Harvest Intern

Setter Ridge Vineyards is adding paid interns to its 2026 harvest team near Kutztown, Pennsylvania. The family-owned and operated vineyard and winery grows about 30 acres of grapes across two estate vineyards in the Lehigh Valley AVA. Its small-lot program centers on premium vinifera varieties, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris. Harvest and cellar work • Help receive fruit and support crushing and destemming as grapes arrive • Clean and sanitize tanks, presses, hoses, and other winery equipment • Perform pumpovers and punch downs according to the production team's directions • Drain and empty tanks, press must, and help keep the cellar safe and orderly • Assist with wine movements, including racking and transfers • Prepare barrels, complete topping, and support other barrel work • Pull samples and assist with routine harvest laboratory analysis • Make measured chemical, yeast, malolactic, and nutrient additions under supervision • Read work orders carefully and document or complete assigned tasks accurately Qualifications Setter Ridge is looking for dependable, self-starting people who bring a positive attitude to a busy harvest environment. Previous harvest work is preferred but is not required. Candidates must be able to follow written and verbal directions in English, pay close attention to quality and detail, and work safely around moving equipment and electricity. The role requires lifting or moving up to 55 pounds. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also required. Schedule and learning opportunity The position runs from mid-to-late June through the end of November. Hours are flexible, and the winery can consider either part-time or full-time availability. Shift work and overtime may be needed as fruit and fermentation schedules change. This is a paid role, although the farm has not published a wage range. Interns work directly alongside production and winemaking staff and receive practical exposure to grape reception, fermentation, cellar sanitation, laboratory work, and barrel care.
