About this job
Marion Acres is hiring livestock farm crew members in Hillsboro. Help care for pasture-raised animals and maintain a 47-acre regenerative farm that supplies its own market and local customers.
What you will do
โข Help raise chickens, turkeys, cattle, and pigs.
โข Move animals onto fresh pasture each day as part of the grazing system.
โข Provide animal care and assist with general farm labor and maintenance.
How the work fits together
Marion Acres began when friends John and Geoff, together with their families, set out to raise food through a pasture-based farming operation. Their first group of thirty-two chickens led to a larger flock and a move from leased ground in Woodburn to Hillsboro. Over time, the farm added beef, pork, turkeys, and eggs, and developed relationships with Portland chefs and households. Its current operation connects the farm with Helvetia Poultry Processing and Helvetia Farm Market. Animals are raised on pasture, poultry is processed on site, and customers can buy the finished products at the market. The crew's daily animal-care work is part of this direct connection between the farm and the people it feeds.
What the employer is looking for
โข Be at least 16 years old.
โข Enjoy working with animals and spending time outdoors.
โข Bring a hardworking, positive, and motivated approach to the team.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
Work needs change with the season, and some crew members contribute across the farm, processing facility, and market. Identify the livestock farm as your preferred area. Pay, weekly hours, start date, and any cross-training are discussed during hiring; no housing or specific wage is promised for this role.
