Maple Wind Farm is hiring Livestock Farm and Processing Crew Members for work in Richmond and Bolton. Participate in pasture-based animal care and poultry processing within a regenerative livestock operation. What you will do • Work with livestock in the pastures and support daily farm production. • Participate in hands-on poultry processing and learn the facility's routines. • Cooperate with the crew across the animal-raising and food-processing stages. • Work carefully and bring flexibility to changing farm needs. How the work fits together Beth Whiting and Bruce Hennessey co-own Maple Wind Farm, which has raised pasture-based livestock since 1999. Their approach links animal care with the condition of the grasslands and soils. Chickens move onto fresh grass regularly, cattle graze in rotation, and pigs and turkeys have outdoor space suited to their natural behaviors. The business combines farming with direct sales and a processing facility that also serves other small producers. Customers buy through the on-farm market, delivery routes, and regional food outlets. This connection between growing, processing, and selling gives the crew exposure to several parts of the food system. The owners emphasize transparency about their methods and maintaining relationships with the people who buy the farm's meat and eggs. What the employer is looking for • Be interested in regenerative agriculture and working with animals. • Lift and carry 30–50 pounds regularly and work outside in varying weather. • Hold a valid U.S. driver's license and work cooperatively with others. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $17–$18 hourly. Full- and part-time seasonal positions run through late November. Full-time staff normally work four 10-hour days, 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Work is approximately 75% field and 25% processing. Farm-product access, discounts, and attendance-based store credit are available.
