About this job

Triple Leaf Nurseries is hiring seven full-time seasonal garden and nursery production workers at one worksite in Perry, Ohio. The active job order covers a practical mix of soil preparation, propagation, planting, daily plant care, order preparation, and general upkeep. It is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants sustained, hands-on experience growing flowers, shrubs, trees, and other nursery plants. Growing and plant-care responsibilities β€’ Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other approved materials to prepare growing areas β€’ Dig, rake, and screen soil and fill cold frames or hot beds before planting β€’ Work on the potting line to move seedlings into sale containers and place them in the correct growing area β€’ Plant, transplant, weed, spray, and water flowers, shrubs, trees, and other nursery material β€’ Monitor plants while working and handle them carefully to protect quality β€’ Tie, bunch, wrap, label, and pack flowers and plants as orders are assembled β€’ Stage products for sale and help load trucks for market or customer delivery β€’ Assist with product delivery when assigned and qualified Garden and property support Because this is a small, single-site growing operation, workers also help with the practical maintenance that keeps production moving. Duties may include cleaning work areas, preparing barns and fields, improving drainage, clearing ditches, maintaining tools and production equipment, and repairing or painting fences and barns. This alternative work may be assigned when weather or crop conditions pause the primary planting and plant-care tasks. Experience and physical requirements No previous nursery experience is required. Workers should arrive at the assigned time, listen carefully to daily instructions, use tools and equipment safely, and contribute to the crew's pace. The position requires extended standing and walking plus regular bending, stooping, digging, lifting, and repetitive plant-handling work. Gardening continues when crops are wet with dew or light rain, and outdoor temperatures may range from about 10 degrees to above 100 degrees, so suitable clothing and durable footwear are important. The job order permits employer-paid, post-hire drug or alcohol testing and an employer-paid background check under the conditions stated in the order. These checks occur only after employment begins and are not part of the interview process. Applicants should review the original order and ask the nursery about any policy they want clarified before accepting work. Season, schedule, and pay The position runs through December 15, 2026. The published schedule is 50 hours per week, generally 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Weather, crop maturity, and available work can affect the daily routine. Additional hours, federal-holiday work, or Sabbath work may be offered but are not required. The public page displays $14.38 per hour and separately contains a $13.15 H-2A wage figure; confirm the wage applicable to your circumstances directly with Triple Leaf before accepting an offer. Apply directly by emailing the nursery or calling 440-413-0328. Reference federal job order H-300-26063-680089 and share your current availability, ability to complete physical outdoor work, and any gardening, nursery, landscaping, delivery, or equipment experienceβ€”even if that experience is informal.
