Oyster Farm Hand - Part-Time Seasonal

Sweet Amalia Oyster Farm is looking for a part-time seasonal Farm Hand in Cape May Court House. Work with oysters outdoors as part of a crew handling the farm's day-to-day production tasks. This is a practical shellfish-farming role for someone who enjoys active work, a coastal setting, and the satisfaction of helping bring a locally raised food to market. What you will do • Sort oysters as part of the farm's production work. • Grade oysters and work alongside the crew on the other field tasks assigned for the day. • Wash oysters and participate in hands-on farm work in wet, muddy conditions. How the work fits together The farm grows oysters on the Cape Shore Flats of New Jersey's Cape May Peninsula. Its growing system uses racks and bags, with oysters harvested by hand. The business sells through wholesale and retail channels, connecting the growing area to customers who value locally produced shellfish. The field crew is one part of that operation; packing, delivery, and mobile raw-bar work are separate roles. Applicants interested in more than one area can discuss combining positions with the farm, depending on their interests and availability. For this opening, the primary work location is the oyster farm in Cape May Court House, not the Newfield packing hub.
