About this job

R Lazy S Ranch is hiring a seasonal Pasture Management Lead in Jackson. Maintain productive horse pastures while working with the owner, general manager, barn crew, and maintenance team. What you will do • Monitor pasture growth and keep grazing, soil-health, and weed-control records. • Coordinate rotations and strip grazing, moving temporary electric fencing as needed. • Maintain fences and irrigation, clear fallen timber, and control invasive plants. • Plan autumn reseeding and improvements for the following spring. How the work fits together The Stirn family has operated R Lazy S for three generations, with the land connected to the family for four. Its fourteen guest cabins and century-old lodge sit among aspens, cottonwoods, and sagebrush near the Snake River and Grand Teton National Park. The ranch keeps roughly eighty horses and two donkeys. A conservation easement protects the 360-acre property, linking the family's hospitality business with long-term care of the landscape. Guests come for riding and other outdoor activities, and many return across generations. Although the setting feels removed from town, the ranch is close to Teton Village and Jackson. Pasture work supports the land and animals that make this family operation possible, alongside the barn's daily riding program and the maintenance crew's property care. What the employer is looking for • Have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and chainsaw and tractor experience. • Be capable of lifting, bending, kneeling, and independent problem-solving. • Range-management, horticultural, spraying-equipment, or repair experience is helpful. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The seasonal position runs through September, with exact dates flexible. Work five days weekly, with days off arranged around seven-day ranch operations. Compensation includes salary, lodging, meals, and variable guest gratuities; confirm the salary and remaining-season dates. Applicants must be twenty-one or older, and offers require a background check. Dogs are not allowed. How to apply Send a cover letter, résumé, and references to info@rlazys.com. Explain your equipment experience, pasture-management background, and availability. Questions may also be directed to 307-733-2655.
