Processing Staff — Meat Production

Pat's Pastured is hiring full-time Processing Staff for its on-farm meat-production operation in East Greenwich. Help prepare pasture-raised poultry and other meat products while maintaining careful food-safety and sanitation practices. What you will do • Process chickens and seasonal turkeys in the USDA-inspected facility. • Grind meat, prepare sausage mixtures, and measure seasonings accurately. • Use and maintain knives and processing equipment safely. • Inspect products, report quality concerns, and clean equipment and work areas. How the work fits together Patrick and Kelly McNiff started Pat's Pastured in 2002, combining agricultural experience with a commitment to education and community food. The family business raises cattle, pigs, and poultry on pasture and woodland in Rhode Island. Its home is Boesch Farm, leased from the Town of East Greenwich to keep working agriculture in the community. Rotating animals between areas helps protect the ground and manage grazing. The farm sells through home delivery, its store, farmers markets, and restaurant relationships. Processing poultry on site keeps an important stage of production close to the livestock operation. Staff in this position help turn the farm's animal-raising work into food that can reach those customers safely and consistently. What the employer is looking for • Be at least 18, communicate well, and work efficiently with a team. • Repeatedly lift 50 pounds and stand or walk for most of a shift. • Work safely with cutting tools; food-production experience is a plus. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $17–$20/hour, Monday–Friday. A food allowance and discounts are provided; health insurance is not. Expect wet areas, refrigerators and freezers, occasional heat, and cleaning chemicals. Follow the facility's food-safety procedures throughout production and cleanup.
