Trees and Shrubs Sales Associate

Forest Lake Greenhouses is hiring a full-time Trees and Shrubs Sales Associate. Help customers choose suitable plants while caring for nursery stock and keeping the outdoor sales area organized and inviting. What you will do • Explain plant choices, planting methods, and ongoing care to customers. • Water, prune, and maintain trees and shrubs. • Unload deliveries, arrange merchandise, and keep displays stocked. • Help load purchases and support other nursery and retail tasks. How the work fits together Forest Lake Greenhouses began in 1989 when Tim and Lisa King worked with the Young family to establish a local growing business. After the Kings retired, members of the next generation and a longtime family friend formed a new partnership to continue the operation. Their backgrounds bring together growing, garden design, logistics, and a shared connection to the Florence community. The greenhouse's purpose is to help people enjoy plants and the natural world through approachable service and quality horticulture. Tree and shrub sales are part of that relationship: customers need both a healthy plant and a clearer understanding of how it will grow. This position connects the daily care of nursery stock with practical guidance for people taking those plants home. What the employer is looking for • Communicate clearly, show initiative, and work well independently and with others. • Lift and carry 50 pounds and stay active outdoors in changing weather. • Plant knowledge is helpful, but hands-on training is provided. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Saturday availability is required, with additional schedule flexibility during the busy March–May period. Pay is discussed during hiring.
