Basse's Farms is hiring a Fall U-Pick Cashier in Colgate. Join the seasonal team welcoming families to a working fruit and pumpkin farm during its autumn harvest activities. What you will do • Assist visitors with u-pick purchases and friendly customer service. • Help guests find the services they need during their farm visit. • Handle purchases in the farm's cashless payment setting. • Maintain a welcoming attitude through busy visitor periods. How the work fits together Roger and Becky Basse have operated the Colgate farm with their family since 2000. Their son Blake and daughter Sarah are part of the business, which centers on giving families a place to experience the changing growing seasons together. Strawberry picking starts the visitor calendar in early summer. Apples and sunflowers follow, then pumpkins and fall activities bring the season to a close. The family's approach combines crops with opportunities for visitors to enjoy time outdoors and build traditions around a farm visit. U-pick service is one of the points where those visitors meet the team directly. A clear, friendly interaction helps people move through their day comfortably and enjoy the produce and activities they came to experience. What the employer is looking for • Be at least fifteen and able to commit to fifteen hours weekly. • Enjoy speaking with visitors and helping families have a positive experience. • Provide accurate availability and be ready for active, customer-facing shifts. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Seasonal pay starts at $14 hourly; the final offer depends on the position and experience. Fall work runs during September and October, through October 31, with dates affected by weather. Shifts generally last five to eight hours.
