Vegetable & Seed Farm Crew Member

Wild Child Farm is hiring crew members to grow vegetables and open-pollinated seed crops on Poodle Creek Road in Noti. Work across the fields and greenhouse at a small organic farm supplying local markets and community food programs. What you will do • Harvest, clean, sort, and pack vegetables and seed crops. • Seed and transplant crops; weed, mulch, trellis, prune, and maintain irrigation. • Care for greenhouse starts and assist with seed drying, threshing, cleaning, and packaging. • Maintain tools and work areas and help with farm repairs. How the work fits together Osana and Alva Waterstone began farming in 2011 and established Wild Child Farm in 2020. They now steward seven certified-organic acres in the foothills of Oregon's Coast Range, producing fruit, vegetables, flowers, and garden seeds. Their market-based CSA lets members choose their own produce using a prepaid farm card, rather than receiving a fixed weekly box. Customers shop at the farm's market booths and on-farm events, creating an ongoing connection between the growers and the households they feed. The farm's 2026 sales outlets include Eugene, Springfield, and Salem markets. This year-round growing business brings together food production, seed stewardship, and a family commitment to farming locally. What the employer is looking for • Be reliable, communicate clearly, and have dependable transportation. • Enjoy active outdoor work in changing weather and bring a strong work ethic. • Tractor, welding, and mechanical skills are useful but not required. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $17–$20/hour, depending on experience. The part-time harvest role averages 20 hours weekly on Mondays and Fridays. The full-time position is Monday–Friday, approximately 40–50 hours weekly. Much of the crop work is performed by hand.
