Vineyard Manager
Casa Rondeña Winery
🍇
About this job
Casa Rondeña Winery is hiring a Vineyard Manager in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Earn $15–$18 an hour while helping care for vines and support grape production at a family-owned New Mexico winery. Vineyard experience is welcome but not required; training is provided for someone interested in developing a longer-term wine-industry career.
What you will do
• Prune vines, manage canopies and irrigation, address pests and disease, and assist with replanting.
• Observe soil, vine health, and weather effects, and support sustainable growing practices.
• Maintain equipment and irrigation systems, track supplies, and help with property projects.
• Coordinate grape sampling and harvest plans with the cellar team, including the annual harvest events.
How the work fits together
John Calvin and his sons began planting the property in 1990, establishing Casa Rondeña as a family winery five years later. The tasting room opened in 1997, followed by a dedicated winery building and later barrel-aging space. The estate brings winemaking together with architecture, music, and community gatherings. Its wines include red blends and Cabernet Franc, reflecting Calvin's longstanding interest in the potential of New Mexico's high-desert growing conditions. The property is also home to member experiences and intimate cultural events. Caring for its vines connects the agricultural side of the business with the wines and experiences visitors encounter. The vineyard position supports both the immediate harvest and the longer-term condition of the growing ground.
What the employer is looking for
• Be at least twenty-one, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Be able to lift fifty pounds and organize several tasks effectively.
• Bring practical problem-solving skills and an interest in learning vineyard work.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
Hourly pay depends on experience within the $15–$18 range. Confirm weekly hours and the working schedule during hiring. Seasonal priorities include vine care, equipment upkeep, and harvest preparation. The workplace is the winery at 733 Chavez Road NW.
