Wrangler — 2027 Season

Lost Creek Ranch is recruiting Wranglers for its 2027 season in Moose. This is a future-season opening for experienced horse people who enjoy working with guests in a family-owned Wyoming ranch setting. What you will do • Guide horseback outings for guests with different riding abilities. • Support an attentive, welcoming guest experience and work cooperatively with the ranch team. • Attend paid preseason orientation and help close the ranch after guests depart. How the work fits together Riding is offered twice daily, with groups organized around experience or interests and no more than eight guests per wrangler. The program spans beginner through advanced riding, arena instruction, cattle penning, and longer picnic outings. Horses are central to the experience, alongside hiking and river activities. The Gottwald family first visited Lost Creek in the 1990s and returned over many summers before taking on ownership. Their connection grew through relationships with wranglers and other employees; some family members also worked at the ranch. They continue the hospitality tradition developed by the Halpin family, which acquired the property in 1968. The setting borders the outdoor opportunities of Grand Teton and the Bridger-Teton National Forest, while Jackson remains approximately half an hour away. What the employer is looking for • Have extensive lifelong horse experience or prior experience guiding walk, trot, and lope rides. • Hold CPR and First Aid certification and be at least eighteen. • Be self-motivated, service-minded, and comfortable living with other staff. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The application anticipates staff arrival around May 19, possibly earlier, and departure after closing work on September 20, 2027. Full-season availability is preferred. Hourly pay plus tips is paid biweekly; confirm the rate during hiring. Meals, dormitory housing, and laundry facilities are included. Pets are not permitted.
