About this job

Vee Bar Guest Ranch is accepting applications for full-time Wranglers for summer 2027 near Laramie. Join a family-operated ranch where horse care, riding instruction, and time with guests are closely connected. What you will do • Lead guest rides and provide attentive care for the horse herd. • Prepare horses, the barn, and tack for the season and maintain riding equipment. • Assess rider ability and match horses with suitable riders. • Help with wagon rides, campouts, and the wider guest experience. How the work fits together The Cole family opened Vee Bar as a guest ranch in 1994. Younger family members grew up helping with the business, including Kari, who started wrangling as a teenager and continued during college. Brent joined the wrangling team in 2004. After a period away, the couple returned in 2006 to manage the ranch. Kari oversees office and hospitality work, while Brent leads the summer horse program and handles a range of practical projects during winter. Their family and longtime employees remain directly involved in daily operations. That continuity gives the ranch a personal, hands-on character. Working here means joining a team whose horse program is part of a broader family business, with the owners sharing the responsibilities of hosting guests and maintaining the property throughout the year. What the employer is looking for • Bring substantial horse experience and be ready to demonstrate your skills. • Be mature, dependable, personable, and professional around guests and coworkers. • Be prepared for physically demanding work and long ranch days. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The wrangler season is approximately May 15–September 1, 2027. The ranch recommends applying by January 1. Confirm your exact dates, compensation, and lodging arrangements during hiring. Staff are encouraged to spend time with guests during ranch activities; summer lunches and dinners are shared with guests. Work requires flexibility and cooperation across the team. How to apply Download the Wrangler Job Application from the employment page and submit it with the required riding video. Contact veebar@veebar.com or 307-745-7036 for submission questions and to discuss your horsemanship background and availability.
