About this job
Sky Nursery is hiring a full-time Content Creator & Designer in Shoreline. Help a family-owned garden business share useful plant information and connect with its community.
What you will do
• Create social posts, photographs, video, and graphics, and respond to community messages.
• Develop gardening articles and information sheets with the nursery's plant experts.
• Produce signs and other branded materials using Adobe design software.
• Support website updates, occasional customer service, planning, and team communication.
How the work fits together
Sky began in 1953 as Irene and Jim Landry's neighborhood feed store. As the surrounding area changed, the family built greenhouses, learned horticulture, and developed a nursery focused on the needs of local gardeners. Several generations have since contributed to the business. Ron and Linda now own the nursery, with Brandy serving as general manager. The family's long connection to Shoreline shapes its emphasis on helpful service and relationships with customers. Plants and gardening knowledge are central to the experience, alongside the tools and supplies people need at home. This role helps translate that knowledge into clear, approachable material. The nursery's specialists provide practical expertise, while the content and design team helps make that expertise accessible to people with different levels of gardening experience.
What the employer is looking for
• Have current social-media experience, strong writing skills, and Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop ability.
• Work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate professionally with different audiences.
• Translate technical information clearly; photography, video, and WordPress experience are advantages.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
Pay is $22–$25 hourly. The role is full-time and combines desk work with activity around the nursery, including moving up to 30 pounds with or without assistance. Weekend availability matters in this retail setting. Discuss the exact schedule during hiring.
How to apply
Complete the Sky Nursery application and select Content Creator & Designer. Include a cover letter and three to five relevant social posts or content samples in PDF format. Provide your availability, wage expectations, and experience with gardening and customer service.
