About this job

WildRoots Collective is hiring a Nature Preschool Teacher at its farm campus in Gales Creek. Lead children ages three to five through play-based outdoor learning, with gardening, seasonal exploration, stories, and hands-on activities. What you will do • Create a safe, welcoming outdoor classroom and a consistent daily rhythm. • Support children's social skills, independence, emotional development, and curiosity. • Plan activities, document learning, communicate with families, and collaborate with colleagues. How the work fits together WildRoots connects education with care for the natural world through local farm, forest, and garden settings. Its farm programs give children opportunities to observe growing plants, work with natural materials, and understand the seasonal needs of land and animals. The organization sees outdoor experience as a way to build confidence, practical skills, and a sense of connection to place. Its broader programs include gardening, animal care, and traditional hands-on projects for older children as well as early learning. Preschool teaching is tailored to younger learners, using play and exploration to introduce that relationship with nature. An inclusive, relationship-based approach guides how staff support each child's development. What the employer is looking for • Have experience with young children and an understanding of early childhood development. • Enjoy outdoor work in all weather and child-led, nature-based learning. • Bring patience, warmth, flexibility, and a collaborative approach. • Outdoor-education experience, early-childhood training, and multilingual skills are especially welcome. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $20–$25/hour depending on qualifications. Monday–Thursday teaching hours are 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; Friday is paid planning and collaboration time. Benefits include paid leave, school-calendar holidays, training, and a professional-development stipend. How to apply Email a resume, letter of interest, and three professional references to info@wildroots.love. Put Nature/Forest Preschool Teacher in the subject line. Explain your experience with young children and what draws you to teaching through nature and farm-based experiences.
