Farm-to-Community Associate

Silver Stream Farm is hiring a seasonal full-time Farm-to-Community Associate to connect its Pinedale greenhouse with customers across western Wyoming. The farm grows food year-round at approximately 8,000 feet and serves communities where distances are long and locally harvested produce can be difficult to find. This position combines careful order handling, independent delivery driving, customer service and Saturday farmers-market responsibility. Delivery and order work • Pack and organize produce so quality, order accuracy and presentation are protected in transit • Load the farm's Ford Transit cargo van in a safe sequence for each route • Drive scheduled runs between Pinedale, Bondurant, Jackson and Wilson, sometimes covering up to 150 miles round trip • Arrive at pickup sites and delivery stops on time and maintain complete delivery records • Follow traffic laws, food-handling expectations, vehicle procedures and farm safety rules • Report delays, customer concerns, damaged product or recurring route issues promptly Customer and market responsibilities The associate is a regular public face of the farm. At pickup locations and delivery stops, they answer straightforward questions about products, schedules and farm offerings while treating every customer with patience and respect. Useful feedback—such as repeated questions, requests or fulfillment problems—should be brought back to the farm team so operations can improve. Saturday work centers on the farmers market. The associate loads supplies, sets up the booth, maintains an inviting and organized display, talks with shoppers, completes sales, restocks products and breaks down the booth. After training, the successful employee should be able to run the market independently by mid-summer. That requires accurate handling of products and transactions, calm problem solving and the judgment to represent a small local farm without continuous supervision. Qualifications Applicants need a valid standard driver's license and a clean driving record; a commercial license is not required. Candidates must be confident operating a cargo van in varied weather and road conditions, including Hoback Canyon, and able to carry produce boxes and market supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Strong customer service, clear communication, dependable attendance and careful follow-through are essential. References will be requested. This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys driving and interacting with the public but also understands the physical and logistical work behind local food. The employee will spend time alone on the road, then move quickly into customer-facing work. Good candidates keep records without reminders, inspect loads before departure, maintain a clean vehicle and booth, and know when to contact the farm rather than improvise around a safety or order problem. Schedule and compensation The advertised season runs from July through September, with the possibility of year-round work if the role and farm needs remain a good fit. The normal schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., plus a Saturday farmers-market shift from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m. Pay is $22 per hour.
