Farm Field Trip Team Member

Gritt's Farm is hiring seasonal Field Trip Team Members in Buffalo for fall 2026. Help school groups enjoy a welcoming visit to a family farm during its pumpkin and harvest season. What you will do • Facilitate weekday school field trips at the farm. • Work with the seasonal team to welcome visitors and support their farm experience. • Bring a friendly, dependable approach to busy days with children and accompanying adults. • Collaborate with coworkers and participate in cross-training as arranged. How the work fits together Gritt's has been part of West Virginia agriculture since 1927, when Veto and Nally Gritt established the family business. Subsequent generations have combined growing food and flowers with new ways to welcome the community onto the farm. Today, the business connects seasonal crops, markets, and experiences for visiting families. Fall brings pumpkin picking and a corn maze alongside other outdoor attractions. School visits are organized separately in groups of up to forty students. Each group receives a schedule for its day, and teachers remain responsible for supervising their students. The visits include a pie pumpkin for each child. This role contributes to the visitor-facing side of the farm: helping a class experience the season together while working within the arrangements made for its visit. What the employer is looking for • Be energetic, reliable, and comfortable working as part of a team. • Be available for school-trip shifts Wednesday through Friday. • Provide clear weekday and weekend availability and meet the eight-hour weekly minimum. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Starting pay is $12 hourly. Field-trip work runs from mid-September through October 30, with Wednesdays 8 a.m.–2 p.m. and Thursdays and Fridays 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Weekend availability is also required for the seasonal team.
