The Plant & Floral Retail Associate helps customers choose plants and flowers, creates arrangements, and keeps garden-center displays inviting. The position combines practical plant care, floral design, and customer service within the Davis family's farm and greenhouse business. What you will do • Help customers select plants or flowers and create arrangements suited to their requests. • Build and refresh floral and retail displays, offering plant-care and styling guidance. • Keep the shop organized, answer calls, and deliver floral orders when needed. How the work fits together Stony Hill Gardens began with cut orchids and remains a grower with a full-service floral shop. Its greenhouses cover about 20,000 square feet and offer plants throughout the seasons: bedding plants, herbs, vegetable starts, perennials, succulents, houseplants, hanging baskets, and orchids. Seasonal displays also feature mums, ornamental cabbage, poinsettias, and other holiday plants. The retail team connects this selection with customers' gardens, homes, and occasions. The Gardens location at 8 Route 24 is distinct from the family's farm-market and pick-your-own location on North Road. This opening is centered on the Gardens shop, its flowers, and its plant customers. What the employer is looking for • Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record for deliveries. • Be ready to learn plant information from experienced staff, follow direction, and balance shop tasks with customer assistance. • Bring a helpful attitude, dependable attendance, and an interest in floral design and plant care. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay starts at $16 per hour and depends on skills. Hours vary with the season: roughly 30-40 weekly in mid-June through November, with higher hours during some peak periods. Saturday and weekend work are required.
