About this job

LEAF Project is hiring a Program Manager to lead youth programming on its small farm in Landisburg. Combine mentorship, teaching, and practical organization to help young people develop confidence and leadership through meaningful work. What you will do • Coordinate youth recruitment, schedules, transportation, attendance, and program logistics. • Mentor participants, facilitate workshops, and evaluate program outcomes. • Support farm and kitchen activities, community events, and the wider leadership team. How the work fits together LEAF's farm-share program gives young people a role in every stage of bringing food to their community. They grow and harvest vegetables, pack the shares, write member newsletters, and ask customers for feedback. The harvest changes with the season, from early greens and roots to tomatoes, peppers, squash, and autumn crops. The organization also prepares soups and works with neighboring farms and food makers to offer complementary products. Members receive food while supporting a place where teenagers can practice responsibility and collaboration. The Program Manager helps create the structure that makes these real-world experiences useful for learning, connecting the daily rhythm of the farm with each participant's growth as a worker and leader. What the employer is looking for • Bring substantial youth-program experience, strong organization, and clear communication. • Hold a driver's license, transport youth when needed, and obtain youth-protection clearances. • Work outdoors on uneven ground and safely lift 50 pounds. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Salary is $50,000–$60,000. Benefits include health-insurance contributions, retirement matching, and 23 first-year paid days off. School-year work runs Sunday–Thursday, including Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Sunday youth shifts; summer work is Monday–Friday, with occasional additional events. This is an on-site, salaried-exempt role. How to apply Email a resume, brief letter of interest, and two professional references to heidi@leafprojectpa.org. Applications are reviewed until filled. Finalists visit the program and are paid for that time.
