Part-Time Beef & Sheep Farm Worker

Penn State's Beef and Sheep Center and Haller Farm are hiring part-time animal attendants for hands-on beef and sheep production work at University Park. The opening is limited to Penn State students and offers practical experience with daily livestock care and farm equipment. Responsibilities • Feed and water beef cattle and sheep • Clean pens and maintain bedding • Move animals safely between pens, handling areas, and pastures • Assist staff with routine animal-health procedures • Keep livestock areas, tools, and workspaces orderly • Depending on experience, train to operate tractors, mowers, and skid loaders • Support other seasonal beef and sheep production tasks as assigned Qualifications and schedule The center is looking for students with a strong work ethic and dependable availability. Previous livestock experience is preferred but not required for every assignment. Some weekends are required because animal care continues every day. The position requires a valid driver's license, a satisfactory motor-vehicle-record check, and Penn State's standard employment background review.
