3P Cattle is hiring one full-time Farm Hand for its cattle operation in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. The active federal job order runs through December 31, 2026 and covers hands-on cattle care, hay work, property upkeep, agricultural equipment, drainage, fencing, and general repairs at a single farm worksite. Approximately 90% of the role is manual farm labor and 10% is equipment operation. Livestock and forage responsibilities • Feed cattle and help move, handle, and work animals according to the farm's directions • Observe cattle and working areas carefully and communicate concerns promptly • Bush-hog grass and assist with cutting, baling, moving, and storing hay • Keep feed, animal-handling, and hay areas orderly and ready for use • Use shovels, machetes, knives, and other farm hand tools safely Field, property, and maintenance work • Operate tractors, farm vehicles, and agricultural implements when trained and assigned • Assist with plowing, harrowing, tilling, and related soil work as seasonal needs change • Inspect and repair fences so livestock areas remain secure • Help repair and maintain barns and other farm buildings • Service or assist with repairs to farm vehicles, implements, and agricultural equipment • Dig, clear, and maintain ditches so fields and working areas drain properly • Complete general property cleanup and other practical cattle-farm duties Qualifications and physical demands Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have at least two months of farm-worker experience. The work requires prolonged walking or sitting, frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and kneeling, and the ability to lift and carry as much as 50 pounds. Crew members must be prepared to work safely through Louisiana heat, cold, rain, mud, and other changing outdoor conditions. The farm maintains a drug-free workplace; any post-hire testing described in the job order is conducted by the employer and is not part of the interview process. A driver's license is not required for the core position. Workers who hold a valid license and meet the applicable medical-certificate requirements may voluntarily drive to transport farm goods or commodities. That driving is paid, and applicants who do not meet those driving requirements remain eligible for the other duties. Schedule and pay The published schedule is 40 hours per week, generally 7:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. The active job order advertises $9.59 per hour and also contains a separate H-2A wage figure; applicants should confirm which rate applies to their circumstances before accepting an offer.
