Part-Time Seasonal Farm Hand

Hunger Task Force is hiring a seasonal Farm Hand at its 208-acre farm in Franklin, Wisconsin. The farm grows more than 70 varieties of fruits and vegetables for free distribution to people facing hunger in the Milwaukee area. This role combines hands-on crop production, equipment operation, orchard work, and leadership of community volunteers. What you will do • Propagate, seed, plant, and transplant vegetable crops according to the farm plan • Harvest fruits and vegetables by picking, cutting, or pulling crops at the proper stage • Install and operate irrigation systems and help control weeds • Work in the greenhouse, production fields, and orchards • Operate trucks, tractors, and other equipment used to cultivate, plant, and harvest crops • Help maintain the fruit orchard and complete other seasonal farm assignments • Set up work for volunteer groups and demonstrate safe, effective farm techniques • Lead volunteers in the greenhouse, orchard, and fields while monitoring work quality and safety What the farm is looking for • High school diploma or GED, one to three months of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination • Able to work safely around farm tools, machinery, volunteers, and changing field conditions • Comfortable standing, walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and completing repetitive work • Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally • Clear communication skills and the patience to explain work and safety practices to volunteers • Commitment to the full farm season Schedule and pay This is a part-time, seasonal role running April 20 through October 31, 2026, weather permitting.
