Greenhouse Assistant - Year-Round

Linwyck Gardens is seeking a Greenhouse Assistant for year-round work at its family-owned wholesale farm in Freehold. Help care for plants, prepare customer orders, and support the operation as crops move through the greenhouses. The role also includes occasional driving work, such as nearby plant deliveries or collecting supplies. What you will do • Water, plant, and fertilize greenhouse crops as part of their daily care. • Help prepare plant orders and support wholesale customers. • Assist with local deliveries and supply pickups when assigned. • Learn about the varieties being grown and the techniques used by the greenhouse team. How the work fits together Linwyck is a family-run grower with more than three decades in the Freehold area and about 40 acres of growing space. Its customers include garden centers, landscape professionals, golf courses, and organizations running plant fundraisers. Production continues through the year: winter greenhouse work prepares annuals and hanging baskets for spring, while summer production turns toward mums, cabbage, kale, pansies, and other fall crops. The business also grows shrubs and supplies hay and straw. This mix gives the assistant exposure to different crops and customer needs as the year progresses. Plant care and order preparation are connected responsibilities: the plants being nurtured in the growing areas are the same products customers will receive. What the employer is looking for • Have authorization to work in the United States and a valid U.S. driver's license. • Bring a practical, positive approach and an eagerness to learn about plant varieties and modern growing methods. • Be interested in daily greenhouse work as well as the order-handling and customer-support side of a wholesale grower.
