Organic Farm Crew Member

Conuco Farm is hiring two or three crew members for the April–November 2026 growing season in New Paltz, New York. This is a small, two-owner farm with a close-knit team growing vegetables, fruit, herbs, and edible flowers. The farm avoids synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, uses organic methods, and is incorporating more regenerative practices into its production system. Responsibilities • Harvest vegetables, fruit, herbs, and edible flowers carefully and at the correct stage • Transplant field and greenhouse crops according to the farm plan • Weed by hand or with appropriate tools and help keep beds and pathways manageable • Maintain crops throughout the season, including routine observation and hands-on plant care • Complete greenhouse seeding, transplant care, watering, organization, and cleanup • Wash harvest containers, market equipment, tools, and other food-contact surfaces • Prepare crops and equipment for the farm's Thursday CSA pickup and Saturday Brooklyn farmers market • Help with general farm organization and changing seasonal priorities • Communicate closely with the two owners and other crew members • Explore a particular production or farm-business interest when farm needs and scheduling allow Qualifications and schedule Conuco prefers applicants with at least one season of experience on another farm or in similar production work. Crew members should be reliable, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and ready to work outdoors through heat, rain, cold, and other changing conditions. Because this is a small team, dependable attendance and the ability to move between different tasks are especially important. Applicants should indicate their weekday availability and whether they can cover occasional Saturday seedling watering or other farm work. Both full-time and part-time arrangements are available.
