About this job

Rand Creek Ranch is hiring a seasonal Wrangler to join its small family-owned guest ranch between Cody and the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Owners Joel and Krystal operate a compact cabin, horseback-riding, fishing, and outfitting business with a small crew. Everyone helps where the day requires it, so this role blends horsemanship and guided rides with upkeep, guest support, and practical ranch chores. Horse and riding responsibilities β€’ Complete daily feeding, grooming, catching, saddling, and general horse-care routines β€’ Check tack and equipment before use and keep the barn and horse areas orderly β€’ Prepare horses for guests with different experience levels and explain basic riding and safety expectations clearly β€’ Lead or assist with trail rides while monitoring riders, horses, terrain, and changing weather β€’ Notice health, behavior, hoof, tack, or facility concerns and raise them promptly β€’ Help maintain trails, fences, pens, and the working areas used by the horse program Small-crew ranch work At Rand Creek, the crew is expected to help beyond the saddle. Depending on the day's needs, that can include cleaning cabins, assisting with cooking or meal preparation, keeping common areas ready for guests, handling basic ranch maintenance, and completing other seasonal projects. The right candidate will see this variety as part of living and working at a small ranch rather than as an interruption to the horse job. What the ranch is looking for Applicants need strong horse experience and practical knowledge, along with the judgment to work safely and independently. The position also requires someone friendly, honest, trustworthy, outgoing, and comfortable communicating with guests. You should be self-motivated, ready for physical outdoor work, and willing to move between animal care, hospitality, cleaning, and maintenance without losing attention to detail. A steady temperament and a genuine interest in people are important because guests rely on the wrangler for both safety and a welcoming Wyoming experience. Season and compensation Employees considering this opening must be available from mid-May through the end of September. Rand Creek provides free employee housing, scheduled time off, and a monthly wage. The ranch has not published the wage amount, so candidates should ask about compensation, hours, housing arrangements, and remaining 2026 start-date flexibility during the interview process. Apply through the form on Rand Creek Ranch's own jobs page or email a resume directly to the ranch. The employer asks applicants not to call and will follow up after reviewing submitted materials.
