Vineyard Crew Member

Bainbridge Vineyards is hiring a part-time crew member to help care for its certified-organic estate vines on Bainbridge Island, Washington. This small, woman-led vineyard and winery hand-tends more than eight acres within 40 acres of shared farmland. The crew grows uncommon cool-climate varieties and makes wine entirely from fruit raised in its own vineyards. What you will do • Complete hands-on vine care as the season progresses, following the crew lead's instructions for each block • Work carefully around established vines while maintaining an efficient pace • Assist with canopy, crop, harvest, and other vineyard work assigned during the growing season • Use appropriate hand tools and keep work areas organized • Notice problems in the rows and communicate questions or concerns promptly • Shift into other vineyard or winery tasks when the needs of a small crew change • Work independently after receiving direction and collaborate closely when the crew works as a group Who will do well here This position suits someone who enjoys outdoor, physical work and wants to understand how grapes become wine. Farm or comparable outdoor-work experience is helpful but is not required. Applicants should be enthusiastic self-starters, interested in farming and cool-climate wine, able to solve practical problems, and willing to learn. The work requires repeated pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and grasping, along with prolonged standing and lifting as much as 50 pounds. Bainbridge Vineyards emphasizes body health and a sustainable work pace while recognizing that vineyard work is repetitive and physically demanding. Hours and compensation The anticipated schedule is approximately 16–24 vineyard hours per week. Optional tasting-room hours may also be available. Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, plus vineyard tips that generally add another $1–$2 per hour, and a wine credit.
